Best of 2011 review

It seems crazy that 2011 has been and gone, and we’re already well on our way into the New Year. As you can probably tell by the lateness of my post (and distinct lack of blogging), 2011 has flown by for me. So I’ve decided to take a moment to sit down, take it all […]

It seems crazy that 2011 has been and gone, and we’re already well on our way into the New Year. As you can probably tell by the lateness of my post (and distinct lack of blogging), 2011 has flown by for me. So I’ve decided to take a moment to sit down, take it all in and share a few words and photos with you.

I had a fantastic year capturing beautiful weddings in picturesque gardens, grand country houses and some exclusive venues. Two of my personal highlights included a whole weekend of festival weddings and photographing a very happy pair of newly-weds dancing in the carnival procession! Weddings are fantastic and I have the best job in the world capturing all the passion, energy and excitement.

I feel so privileged to have been let in to so many peoples’ lives and would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of my 2011 couples and everyone I’ve worked with. So much laughter; so much love, and I feel very lucky to have been chosen to capture all those special moments for eternity.

Looking ahead, 2012 is set to be even more awesome, so I hope you will join me in raising a glass (or mug) to toast all the lovely couples getting married on the Isle of Wight in 2012.

Twilight Kristen Stewart Robert Pattinson secret Isle of Wight wedding

After spending last New Years Eve on the Isle of Wight, Breaking Dawn stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (or Robsten as they are affectionately known) have once again been linked to the Island. This time In Touch magazine reports that the Twilight stars are planning a secret 2012 wedding on the Isle of Wight.

The magazine quotes a “cast mate” as saying the low-key couple “will probably opt for Britain’s secluded Isle of Wight” for the nuptials.

According to the In Touch source, Stewart is hoping for a “more intimate” ceremony than the “wedding of the century” staged by Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in the movie.

Whether it’s true or not the Isle of Wight certainly has a magical quality about it which suits the film down to a tee (I may have been ‘forced’ to watch all of them by my better half)… So are you planning on following in the rumoured footsteps of the happy couple and getting married on the Island? Or maybe you’re planning a beautiful Twilight themed wedding? If so, leave a comment below about your plans and ideas, or get in touch for a chat about Isle of Wight wedding photography as I’d LOVE to be involved!

I am delighted to announce that I have been featured on the amazing Rock ‘n Roll Bride wedding blog!

Why is this so exciting you might ask? Well the internationally renowned Rock ‘n Roll Bride is the No. 1 wedding blog in the UK and has been featured in newspapers and magazines such as Cosmopolitan Bride, The British Journal of Photography and The Guardian. It is also considered to be one of the most influential blogs in the world, inspiring brides to think outside of the conventional wedding norms and put their own mark on the day.

The site has a huge following and has been described as a ‘Mecca for gorgeous photography and inspiring real weddings’ and is ‘a little haven of kick ass weddingness’ so I’m incredibly honoured to grace its pages.

In Kat Williams own words “Rock ‘n Roll Bride promotes individuality and general awesomeness within a cookie cutter, pastel and puke-worthy wedding world. Don’t let the wedding industry define your day – let *you* define your day.”

Amazingness. One of my ambitions was to be featured by Kat, and here I am – a very happy Isle of Wight wedding photographer featured on Rock ‘n Roll Bride. Click here to read the full article: http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2011/09/48-couples-marry-at-bestival-in-the-big-love-inflatable-church/

P.S. It would be wicked if you could take 5 minutes to check out the feature, leave a comment and have a look around Kat’s site.
